Went out today to a local small park. While there I attracted the attention of 2 kids. They were there while their sister had ball practice. They ended up helping me hunt and dig. They had a great time and the little boy wants one of his own. They found a penny and dime they left with. When it was time for them to go the little boy informed me he would be back for sisters ball pratice Thursday if I wanted to come back then. It would be great if I had more than one detector, then they could realy go after it. I guess I could take extra digging tools so they could dig finds. They both think they are already the best at it :)

I've tried letting my two oldest granddaughters dig for me, (ages 3 and 5) but they make holes an inch deep and a foot in diameter! They're not strong enough to cut plugs yet. Oh, and they also go off digging on their own, not necessarily where I show them to dig! They'd dig to China in the chips or sand if I let them! I guess I need to let them age a few more years and try again. But then they will be interested in, Yuck, boys who will be showing off nearby. Oh well, let's see what happens. Monty

Those helpers can be really fun at the right age. HH Burdie

my 2 boys age 12 and 14 are always helping me when i hunt in the yard .... sunday i ran across a Bounty Hunter Gold Digger detector at the flea market and bought it for $18 brought it home and gave it to them and they found 4 clad quarters (2 in the same hole) and a clad penny where i thought i had already checked. so they are hooked now
