I found a small round stone i believe is a game artifact being where i found it.
Yeah post your pics we all like to see artifacts.

Never have got an ID on these. They were found in in an area well known for Indian artifacts.Look like fossilized bird eggs but a couple appear to be quartz. Every one has a hole drilled in one end. One suggestion in the past was a type of discoidal game piece. Sinker.

aint found nothing like that yet but those are neat.

I remember those pieces on the What is It forum...real stumpers!

Were the drilled stones found together? Does the drilled hole remain the same size or is it larger at the beginning? How round are the objects, really round or a little goose egged? Any rub marks on them from grinding? Just trying to find out if they were hand produced or from a later time.

Yes they were all found within 20 feet of each other. There were about 20 of them. Holes appear to be same size and approx. same depth. Stones however are different sizes. Shape appears natural no rubbing. Egg shaped. I have one that is chipped that shows an outer shell. But 4 of them appear to be quartz . Two of them are in pictures ( smaller ones)

None of the objects are drilled all the way through and the drilled hole is the same diameter. All the ancient drillings I have seen produce a hole that is larger at the beginning due to crudeness of the bit and the natural wobble of trying to turn something by hand. Is it possible that these are baked ceramic? The one that is chipped and shows a shell might be a glaze produced by firing.
