Garage sale find-spyglass?? Need ID help

[bdxample]

Picked this up today. It seems to be some kind of spyglass, but I think there is probably another name for it. Anyone have any ideas on what this actually is?

[kc10bull]

Any markings on it?

Not a single marking that I could find

Looks like part of a surveyors tool ?

Cool find

Mystery solved, it's a monocular (brass)

Now to see if it's authentic or a repro

Neat find.
