Garbage day

They got a new garbage pickup system and they don't even get out of the truck any more. They got it made. No more falling on the ice and breaking an arm or hurting there backs. One truck a week for garbage and on every other week two trucks come one for the recyclables.
It must be saving them time,money and on there insurance.

We had a garbage collector get hit by a car while loading garbage the old way behind the truck. I knew him. Dead

We've had that for about 10 years here in Austin,but one better we now have a big blue 90 gallon can that you can put all your recyclables in and I mean almost everything all plastics #1-#7 all paperboard items and all cardboard,all color of glass,tin ,steal,etc.I now put out my regular trash just once a month.
The trucks here in town also have 2 steering wheels and have the arm that picks 'em up.

Yep, been around here for a long time. Pretty much all the 'burbs. Big cities are the last to get such services usually because they have kickbacks, union payoffs, and patronage concerns that the rest of us generally do not have.

If regular trash is picked up once a month it must smell real bad.

We've had that type of truck here for years now. There's only one problem; the drivers can get in a hurry and try to put the trashcans down too fast, throwing garbage all over the place. They don't feel it's their job to jump out and pick up trash, so they leave it for you to do. When it happens at my house I give their bosses a call. Also, they limit the weight to 200 pounds, and will leave the cans full if they think you have over-loaded them.

I suppose it would make it easier on the deranged to dispose of bodies.
