Are you thinking about buying a new detector already. You've only had the 1500 for what, about a week?

I Don't Own One, But I'm SHURE the Coil is Submersable.

Pretty Much ALL Detectors made Today Have WATER PROOF COILS.

Just Don't Get The CONTROL BOX WET.

Yes, the coil is submersible but as Jeff pointed out the control box is not. Although I have done a little shallow water hunting with mine, it makes me nervous as it would be too easy to drop it while retrieving a target. HH.

& don't Forget, IF you do a Salt Water Beach,

CLEAN The OUTSIDE of the DETECTOR COMPLETLY With Fresh Water After.
Ocean Salt Can Be VERY Destructive.

And IF by Chance You Do Drop it in the OCEAN

Take The Batteries Out Immediatly, Then
Take your Garden Hose & Flush the Entire Inside of The Control Box out.
At this Point You Can't do Anymore Harm.
Then Either Let Dry Completly & Put Batteries back in & It May Work.
Or Just Send it in For Repair.

? ? ? ? ? HAPPY HUNTING

Have had good luck with electronics on several sunk towboats . Wash throughly with fresh water . dry with heat gun or blow dryer. spray with wd -40 or good moisture resistant film , blow off excess, and power up . About 60% success > Which is good !!!!!!!!!! :) WILL DETECT FOR FOOD............CALL......BR...549
