Garrett Pinpointer giving me troubles

My Pinpointer (1 yr old) sometimes wont stop beeping ---I can set it down or wave it in the air and it keeps beeping --If I shut it off and back on it may or may not do it again ??
Any ideas ?? Perry

Mine does this periodically. I just turn it off and then back on and it usually clears the problem up.. Also a new battery will resolve the problem some of the time..

Mine went back twice for the exact same thing, they fixed it on the second try.

I had that problem after the first battery change. Then it was suggested that the replacement battery might not be the same size/length as the one it came with. Darned if it wasn't just a hint smaller. I resolved it by just folding up a piece of paper and fitting it into the cap to make up the difference in space until I could get a new battery.

By the way thinking I may need to send it back I bought a CEN TECK hand held detector (pin Pointer) as a backup-$16.00 + S&H -SAVE your money-ITS JUNK ////// Perry
