Garrett scanner made in China?

I came across something this afternoon while doing a web search on Chinese made detectors. I thought this was odd, as I thought that Garrett detectors, both hobby and security, were made in the USA. Any possibility it could be a counterfeit?

See the link below.

In this day of "outsourcing," the possibilities are endless.

Greed is the answer here. Garrett, an old American company has sold out to cheaper labor and materials and we still buy it just like we buy foreign cars and put our own out of work where now they can't afford to shop in our stores.

this would be a great question for Garrett. i agree with sandman, outsourcing is slow suicide for this country.

Is any detector 100 % free of foreign parts ? HH

My bet would be that most components are manufactured elsewhere.
