Garrett Vortex VX9 potential major flaw(s) with latest version software

Garrett continues to fail with the vortex. Each firmware update introduces more issues.

It doesn’t appear that Garrett has hardware and software designers on staff that are capable of producing a multi-frequency detector.

Entry level detectors from other manufacturers are expodentially more capable than the vortex.

Rather than focus engineering on fixing the issues with the vortex, garrett releases two new coils for it.

Garrett management continues to demonstrate cluelessness.

I'll make a quick comment on this video now that I have the Vortex VX9 in my hands and have updated it to the latest version 1.13. I can certainly make a video if anyone would like to see the results but I tested in the same manner as this video and got similiar results with large chunks of freshly dug iron. I would have to move the coins (quarter, dime, Nickel, pennies) at least 8-10" away from the iron before I could get the machine to read oneway. AT FIRST I WAS PRETTY DISAPPOINTED.. However, Just because I was curious I ran the my Nokta Legend with the LG24 coil over the same targets and got the exact same results. If fact I took it a step further and moved the iron just to the point where the Legend would barely pass and see the coins and then I ran the Vortex back over the targets and it performed nearly identical to the Legend. The only exception was the screen on the Vortex was slower to "fade" away from the last VDI # it showed, but both machines struggle when a coin was within 6" give or take an inch or two or essentially when both targets where within the width of the coil. No settings I could find made much of a difference even forcing signal freq. I also have a really small 6" coil for the Nokta Impact I may try this same test and see how it performs. I used to hunt with the F75 with a small 4" round coil and it's about the only machine I can think of that would maybe have passed this test and possibly the Deus but I no longer own that machine... My point is I think the Vortex is with the latest update is performing pretty much on par with the orignal Legend and the screen is giving you a little more info to go off of if that's something you value.
