Gem Encrusted Indian Head Penny 1904

While rolling some pennies I discovered a 1904 Indian Head encrusted with some sort of gem looking object. I have no idea what it is but maybe some of you guys can help me out.

It looks like a jeweler put a diamond in the center of the eye. I have no idea what it's worth but it looks like a diamond.

No clue what it is, but unless it is a valuable gem it is worth less than it would be without it, that is just weird! A good still picture would be better than a video, but it appears someone had too much free time on their hands and gave the indian an eye!
