They both look like geodes to me. In the top picture, the left hand piece appears to be botryoidal chalcedony geode, and the right hand piece looks like a quartz crystal geode.

It looks like a bit of iron staining in the quartz geode. A few hour soak in iron out might bring the sparkle back. You can find iron out in the laundry section of your local Dollar General, Walmart, or grocery store, etc. I use oxalic acid but iron out does the same thing.
