Hello
Theses finds are from US Army bases here in Germany. Good clad count at one base, found 4 Euro in 30 minutes (see exchange rate). Nice large coin from the Netherlands and another new unit crest, got over 25 crests now. Also found a broken bell and top of some type of utensil with very detailed engravings (animals).

The rounds in the middle with the bent posture seems to be rare Germany 13mm ammo. It was only used on a couple types of aircraft. The large 25mm shell casings on the right come from a Bradley Fighting Vehicle.

Sorry about the picture quality.

Great stuff! I don't recall ever reading about 13mm being the 'caliber' of a German MG. I'm thinking 12.7mm maybe? But it's been a long time since I read WW2 a/c specs. I'll have to find the old William Green and Gerald Pollinger book..

That's a catch that would make me happy for a day... well done and thanks for sharing.

The shells in the middle look to have a "belt" at the bottom, a little swelled area with extra brass near the rim. They look like the British "Boys" anti-tank rifle in .55 caliber.
They were shot by soldiers who generally didn't like them because of the huge recoil they had, like getting hit with a baseball bat...

That's what they look like to me.
Great finds!
Thanks!

Nice finds 88!

BTW...did some checking after replying in your other post. I see the 82nd is still in Bamberg along with the 54th. 2 Engineer Battalions? Interesting :-\
