Found this H. Kennedy ....on the beach. Can anyone date it closer than "1925 or before?" Perhaps the shoulder helps, it being a ridge and not smooth. the number is "13"...

Very hard to narow it down, in the 1880-1920 range, Barrowfield made many different styles during the time period...

Hello unclemac,

This style of bottle was used for both full strength beer, or ale, and for ginger beer. It's been my experience that these peaked shoulder models are late Victorian. I have one with a crown cap finish. I'd put it 1880-1900.

Hey unclemac,

I don't think so. I've seen these with much higher numbers than the number of kilns at Barrowfield. The potters that worked there were paid by piece produced. I believe the numeric designations were for a particular potter, and that the days tally would be reflected in his or her pay.
