I hit this in a stream near a site I hit on occasion. It was too frozen to detect and I was looking into a new theory of how the homestead was arranged.

It says Warranted Flask, and has 808 on the bottom. A quick Google search says 1885-1900, but I'm sure members have their own opinions.

Brrrrrrrrr! 10 degrees right now...give me a sip!

Cool to find that above ground yet still intact! :icon_thumright: Andi

Very cool thing to find. I have a few that I found at a mid-1890's trash pit. I have found probably 20 broken but only few complete. You are right on the time period.

I have dug dozens of those flasks. Mine came from 1900- 1910 dumps.

Yes to the dates and yes to the dozens dug. I used to have a picture on an old computer of a privy i dug that had 72 of these on the top. And that was the whole ones. I kept a few differently embossed ones, and some of them started to turn a light amethyst... Now i wish i kept a couple more. H
Oh well, they are quite common, but a good sign for a place to dig!!!

Nice find Scrappy. .
That's what im going to do some this season, some privy digging. .

Yeah, my boredom took me for a hike today. The streams were the only places I could see ground. I'm happy to have found it despite its commonness - my wife likes these and that my friend is priceless...

I have about 40 of them... Just 'cuz its common doesnt mean someone cant like it!! They are above my kitchen on top of the cabinets.... 8-)

That's a lot of outhouse drinking, I wonder if that's what happened- Got so drunk fell down-hense the saying got really shi* faced?

I found two similar flasks nestled in a rock wall.I'm sure hid there by who drunk'em
who drunk'em is a game my wife and I play. My wife has a drinking problem ya know...she doesn't drink enough. Cheers

Even though it's quite common, it's still so cool to find glass intact that is 100 + years old. KEEPING THAT WIFE HAPPY WILL GUARANTEE YOUR HAPPINESS!

I actually found two other broken flasks nearby. It's amazing this one made it after what I assume was a rough 100 years lying in a rocky stream.

Great looking bottle!

That's awesome, Scrappy! Kudos to you for braving the cold. I cannot wait until it gets warmer and we can get out there on a hunt together!
