Who would have thought that after seeing the post by jgas on his cigar jar I would find something similar. In fact I found two tobacco jars at a huge antique show. The one I chose to purchase was on the internet for $110. The dealer wanted $50 for this one. I offered $35 and she bumped it up to $40. I grabbed it. Never saw one before, don't think I will ever dig one, and may never see one again. The embossing reads...GLOBE TOBACCO COMPANY...DETROIT. PAT OCT 10th 1882. It is made to look like a barrel. As nice as it is I think the one jgas dug and reassembled is more beautiful.
