Going tomorrow to a property where the British camped here in Louisiana.

Up north when we hunt a big farm field we look for heavy concentrations of iron to locate the long gone houses and barns. Dave Z found a Tavern once using that method, and a pocket full of hammered silver. A couple more tricks, if you spot an Apple tree make tracks for that spot. Patches of perennial flowers ditto. When overgrown, throw a 4x4 piece of plywood down to flatten it and detect through that, that's some hard core detecting right there.
