I found this at Myrtle Beach this past week. It was about 12" deep and had a very strong signal. I was using a Minelab Explorer SE Pro and it showed FER= 00 and COND= 31. The top side (side with writing) is copper and the bottom is what looks like gold.

Dia. = 27.8mm, (1.0960" or 1 3/32")
Thickness 5.09mm (.2055" or 13/64")
Weight 26.9 grams or 0.949 Oz.

In case you cant see the writing:
149
R=00
7325207-
000-01
NT-7900

I have no idea what it is. I have searched the internet using all the writing in one form or another. I am pretty new to detecting and this is the first thing I have ever found other than pull tabs and bottle caps.

The boys from Beemaster.com reckon it is the bottom of a fuse link from a power line or bottom of a transformer that has blown out. But there is no amp/voltage on it, so now they are agruing over it!

Mickk, I work in the utility industry and have see alot of fuse links and a lot of transformers. Never seen a fuse link that looks anything like this nor anything like this in a transformer. Now I have never been in a substation transformer so I will ask one of the substation maintenance guys if they have seen anything like it in a substation xfmr.

The fact that the item weight .949 oz. or 1 troy ounce makes me believe it is a test weight for an old jewelers balancing scale.
You might follow that line of thinking in figuring it out.

I always thought that 1 troy ounce = 31.1034768 grams. This weighs 26.9 grams. Not accurate enough to be a test weight.

A custom job go no go gauge is what I am leaning for. How wide, and thick is it in mm?

Looking for some thing else I came across electronic tokens. This could be one of them.
example can be found here

Also look under iButton.

Seems something was wrote on the gold colored side at one time also. Can not read it.

I don't think itis a watch back as there are no threads. I don't believe it to be a battery either as I checked it with a volt meter and there were 0 volts and a battery will usually have a + or - on one side.

Kris
Check it with an Ohm meter with the setting on resistance just to see if there is a positive and negative side. You can see if it has continuity between the 2 sides or not.
