Gold Crown w/ Pi symbol, TN show me your skills :)

Hello TN Members, I thought you guys were the best ;) I still got not one reply, so I am adding more info: I thought U guys like a challenge!

I found this Hexagon w/ Triangle in middle Amulet while MD'n around an old German/French Tower. Can you help me Identify it?
It seems to be previously coated with another metal, for there is still traces of a shiny metal all over. I found an O ring next to it but lost it.
Amulet measures- 3cm wide 3 cm high 2mm thick

Hi guys, So much views, but not one reply. Is it that rare, or junk? This was found in Morlautern near Der Schlachtenturm. A tower that was built by the french in 1215. Many battles happen around there including Celtic, Napoleon, and WW2.
Here's a Link . Der Schlachtenturm in Morlautern

I found this right in front of the second step to the tower. I found allot of old coins around there, so I went again and next to the same stairs just deeper I found this. Im not sure if its an H, FL, FJ.... Measurements about 2cm3mm wide, 5 cm tall UPDATE: may be Pi symbol
Ty for your time :)

I believe the badge has the pi symbol below the crown, rather than letters.

Yes, it is the Greek letter Pi ...but perhaps it's important that it is a "lower case" letter pi (not the capital letter Pi). The lower-case letter pi has a significant role in Mathematics and Geometry (and some other branches of Science). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pi_(letter)

The crown symbol above the letter is the German/Prussian Royal/Imperial crown.

I thought the letter part might be a representation of the Sorority named Pi Pi Pi. But it seems more likely that the capital letter Pi would be used in the Sorority's name. So your lower-case pi emblem may be related to a German/Prussian Mathematical Society or Mathematical award from such a Society.

First... the crown is German, definitely not Russian. Compare it with the crown in this photo (below) of a World War One era German army Infantry button.

It is an insignia or an emblem for an unknown organization or club. You will notice that it has a small spot of solder on its back, which is where an attachment pin or loop broke off of it. The pin or loop was for attaching the emblem to clothing or a hat.

> what about the Amulet?

All I can say aout it is that the amulet's shapes are "distinctive" Geometric shapes (its body is a perfect hexagon, and the hole in it is an perfect Equilateral triangle) ...and Geometric shapes are popular as necklace pendant / amulet shapes. Modern Jewellery | Handcrafted Jewellery | Artisan Jewellery | Contemporary Jewellery | Miss Wee
Therefore, although your amulet's shape (combining a hexagon and a triangle) is unusual, I think it is from a woman's necklace, and is probably not a special kind of symbol. The fact that it is made of a cheap base-metal plated with a "golden" (but not actual gold) plating indicates it is an inexpensive pendant / amulet from a woman's necklace.

> Do you think it is Valuable?

I do not think the amulet is valuable, because it is made of cheap metal. The Pi-with-German-crown emblem may have some value if it can be identified as the emblem of a famous organization or club. It is made of stamped brass with (real) gold plating. The use of actual gold plating on it means it is not simply a piece of cheap jewelry.

Once the plating gets old you can get it redone and it will looking new again. I loved to read this topic it is really good to see those gold letters.

I find the Russian origin very plausible- the resemblence to the monogram of the Tsar is very close. The crown looks more Russian than Prussian- that closed-in tiara appearance rather than the open German crown.
