Gold falls out of the sky


Kind of a no brainer since the entire earth is the result of meteorite accumulation.

I've always wondered at just what point a meteorite is considered just a part of the earth and not an object from outer space?

Interestingly the article you linked to didn't mention the study was about tungsten and not gold. I guess a pretty picture of some alluvial nuggets and the word gold sells better than a 15 parts per billion tungsten deposit. :laughing7:

It is an interesting concept. But one must consider that a meteor and the earth are basically the same thing....(just different in size and other characteristics). The planets can often be basically one and the same in makeup as part of the overall universe (materials).

Think about scraping the runway and panning for the gold that got scraped off those bars!
