How can the gold be separated from the other metals? A friend of mine whose dad was a jeweler a long time ago melted down a lot of watches. He has quite a few ingots and a refinery refused them.Thanks

One method is to use aqua regia, it dissolves gold and then it can be reconstituted with mercury or uric acid.
