Dug this today at one of our older sites with cbxjon and a diggin friend up from Dorchester. It was an iffy signal and after pinpointing a small square nail in the hole I thought that was it. Re checked the hole and there was still a signal but now a very clean, good signal! Glad I re checked! First pic is fresh out the dirt and then after a quick aluminum jelly brushing. A lot of gold gilt remaining! One of the prettiest buttons I've dug. The back is damaged and unfortunately not sure if it's Philadelphia or Phil and NY. Any help dating by some of the pros here will be greatly appreciated! Thanks for looking.

Your backmark looks like "Horstmann/Philadelphia" to me. If so, it dates the button between 1893-1935. The style makes me lean toward the latter end of that time period.

Hey bud I will look tonight. Very nice looking. I'm sure the fyrffytr is right

Well done Darby! There is a lot of gold left on that one. Nice.
