I finally made it out this morning for couple hours and managed a couple buttons. Last time I detected was a couple weeks ago in Lake Ontario, found a bunch of musket balls.
Here is a pic of them.

I probably wasn't that far from you, I stayed in Sackets Harbor at the Madison Barracks (I found a General Service button there at the parade grounds, but I lost the picture) Thanks bud

Yes, Sackets Harbor is close to Watertown which is close to Kingston, ON.
I live about 100 miles west of Kingston, lots of War of 1812 activity in that region of our countries, being so close to the border.

Last summer I hit the same spot in the water where I found all those musket balls this summer. I found two buttons and a bunch of musket balls last summer. One of the buttons was a pewter US button.

I detect in the Eastern part of our province every spring and summer following the harvest.
My buddy has found a GW Button and I've found a bunch of US related War of 1812 relics.
I found 4 War of 1812 buttons on one site...in total we found 10 British Sappers and Miners buttons in a 30' x 30' area.
Here's a pic of the buttons, the site and a New York baggage tag I found there.
Best of luck to you Brad and keep cool.:occasion14:
