A pinch of Nevada concentrates a pinch of Borax and Washing Soda heat equals a BB sized button of gold. Still hot sitting on clean green glassy slag. Need to make a trip to Nevada.
The bead weighed a 1/2 gram wish I had a pickup load of this the sample was just a random piece of float that sounded off with the metal detector.

I just finished running a 1/4 bucket from our place through the jaw crusher and chain mill. My son hauled this home on his back, so I'll let him pan it or sluice keeping my fingers crossed.
We ran it through the ribbed sluice, slow but sure just dust and micro gold. Beats a skunk and my son had a couple of grams off the bedrock with the detector. So, a good day in the life of a prospector.

We do that's why the bedrock is exposed but it's summer and bone dry. So, my son and company are metal detecting the cracks and crevasses.
I think crevassing should be good anytime! :coffee2:

Ok, was only using spelling from the post above.

Either way the gold getting is good.

cre·vasse
[krəˈvas]

NOUN
  1. a deep open crack, especially one in a glacier.
Crevice and crevasse are very similar words: both come from Old French crever "to break or burst" and both refer to an opening of some kind. In fact, you can say that the only notable distinction between the two is the size of the openings they denote—and that one of them—crevice—is far more common than the other.

Interesting... small cracks full of nuggets must be easier to use a gold detector than a large deep one (unless cleaned out first).

My son found a nice specimen piece this evening 4 1/2 grams needs a little cleaning. Quartz and gold I'll take another photo after a little cleaning nice find off the place. Broke it up a little with mortar and pestle ad let the Whink do its thing.

Green House Deposit also known as float while digging in the garden. So I had a couple of pieces of quartz large cobble ran through the jaw crusher then chain mill. A trip across the ribbed sluice then panned also used a magnet to remove a little of the black sand. Microscopic gold maybe like desertgoldigger has been finding? but I ended up with a line of ultra fine gold mercury's friend.

My son convinced me that he had a quad trail up to the diggings. The trail was an adventure in its self-years since my last ride up there prospect holes every where. My son is metal detecting the rim around the holes a lot of digging done here back in the gold rush. He hit a patch last night and I watched him dig up a couple more today the Nox finds them big and small. He's still at it likely to sundown or later real dirty but they will clean up nice.

With all the rain headed your way, there might be some good panning in the streams.
