Winters at 10,200ft elevation can be brutal! We get 9 months with some freezing weather and the chance of some real snow for 7 of those. What is a prospector to do!? Travel to warmer gold regions during those brutal winters! This year, I went down to Arizona and prospected all over the state. I found nuggets, meteorites, lode gold and most importantly great times and laughs with some good prospecting buddies. I tend to prospect alone, but good belly laughs usually occur with friends. Here are a few pics of one truly epic day I had out in the desert. Fun like this can't be bought.
Spent the whole day drywashing nice coarse gold and finished out metal detecting until past sunset. Both efforts were productive! Pictured is my good buddy and his wife.
