Gold Prospecting in Arkansas

I am wondering if there are any other Gold Prospectors in Central Arkansas. I live in the Hot Springs area. I use to live in Fayetteville AR and have attended a Gold Prospectors of America group up there a few years ago. Thinking about trying to start a group around here in Central Arkansas. Or at least find a prospecting pardner.

Just as a quick response off the top of my head - the Kiamichi River in SE Oklahoma is known for carrying fine gold; the headwaters are in the Ouachita Mnts in SW Arkansas and SE Oklahoma, (south of Mena) mostly within the Ouachita Natl Forest. Many tales of "lost" Spanish gold and silver mines in that area, as well...maybe just stories, maybe some truth...
