Gold Ring # 16 and a Pea Gravel Diamond Hunt
What a day!
I decided to tie up some loose ends and check out some
tot lots this mornin. It was cold and tryin to rain.
My first choice was a small park in a mixed racial and ethnic
neighborhood. Tha city has been working on it most of tha
summer, and I haven’t been able to hunt it for a while.
They are still working where thay tore a building down.
But now thay have opened most of it and let people use it
again. That includes tha tot lot.
I started with MisSpeedy but when I got in tha tot lot I realized
that thay had put new pea gravel on top of tha old pea gravel.
Tha old pea gravel had a hard crust about 3”.
That meant I needed a digger and as much depth on gold as
I could get.
That meant tha Vaquero and tha screw driver.
It kept rainin more and then it would let up. I found quite a bit
of clad and all kinds of stuff.
Two RR spikes in tha tot lot, a few bracelets, some ear rings
and pendants. One ear ring seems to be silver and tha dear
pendant may be silver. Part of a chain, other odds and ends,
and four rings.
Tha fourth ring is 14k gold with three small diamonds. But
it must have a larger stone missing. It is in good shape with
few scratches or dents. It only has three post for tha missing
stone. If it is a diamond, it would most likely be a nice size
one.
It says “14k s“. I don’t know what tha “s” means so I tested
it.
There is some other letters inside which I will not divulge.
I spent tha rest of tha time lOOkin for tha stone.
Have you ever tried at find an eddie biddy diamond in a pile
of pea gravel?
It sounds a lot easier than it is. Especially when it’s cold &
I don’t know if I want at lOOk for it no more.
It’s really a dragg.
But I sure did a dance when I found that ring. I just could
not believe it. I saw a sparkel before I detected it. It was
almost on top. It is just a shocker when that happens.
I warmed up, ate some fast food and went home fat and
happy.
I think that’s my birthday present from tha detector gods..LOL
I'm 60 now. Yesterday was my birthday.
