I have spent a couple of days in a pretty good spot. I have found quite a bit of clad, a wheat penny and some early 40's nickels. I also found some things I can't ID. I found three rings and some other odd stuff.

Now for the odd stuff, I think this was a penny or a dime.

A square nail. I have never found any of these. Should I leave it or try to clean it up? It looks kinda cool how it is. I was using my excal so this nail isn't iron. Brass?????

Here is a hinge still attached to wood, I think it is modern but that didn't stop me from looking like mad for a chest that it could have belonged too.

Very nice rings!

Your square nail looks like the prong to a buckle.
