I still can't dig, so we came down out of the mountains and went to the detecting store in Golden. Bought a gold pan and an Eclipse 5.3 for my DFX. Cool place, and Bill is rich and famous. Famous, anyway.

ohhhh, we so miss CO. Hint: If you would like to find some (native gold) See our friend Jessie in Blackhawk. he owns a mine there and is real nice guy. He is very informative. Before we left CO. we visited him. He showed me how to extract gold from mercury. That was really cool. If you do go, tell him mike and maggie from the Girl scout camp in Estes Park say hi!

Bill of 'Gold N Detectors' is a super nice guy.He and his wife are from my neck of the woods here in MO.I stop and visit whenever I'm out there.He will tell it like it is and give you a good deal.I usually stay either in Golden or Idaho Springs and always pay my taxes at Blackhawk.Hope your trip was great.

Naw, Seger, there ain't no snow there because they're a few thousand feet lower than us and the temp. was up in the fifties. Of course, we showed up in our heavy coats, gloves, etc., to attract attention as mountain people when we walked down the street. Still, Bill told me their ground is still pretty much froze up and hard to dig.

When I visit Golden, I usually hunt for the liquid gold! Turn around, the Coors bottling plant is right behind you....

Thanks for the memory. Met Bill a couple years ago, lots of knowledge he has.
Just go slow coming out of those road tunnels, those goats can be anywhere. lol

All of those "Old West" towns look so fascinating to visit. When we are travelling we usually don't have the time to explore. And it's kinda hard to find parking spot for a 30' travel trailer being pulled by a 22' van!
