the pendant has a liberty head on the front and a 1 with a date of 1864 under it. Any ideas?
 
You did have a good day! The "pendant" looks like a modified Large Cent. Appears to have been gold plated?
 
The pendant is smaller than a dime looks similar to war tokens though
