Got out for a little detecting today. In between the snow showers and sun shine I managed to find a few wheats and a cool old token. Hard to see but on one side it's the good luck swastika, "Membership emblem of the don't worry club"
other side it's save a dollar when you spend 10 with "Cohen's clothes, furnishings, shoes for family" Nesquehoning, PA.

I lived here all my life and never even heard of this store. I threw in the recorded dig of the find also.

I have dug 2 of those--Butler's clothier from western NY, circa early 1900's. 1st sold for $20. 2nd listed in my Ebay store

I have one from Worcester Salt in NY.... which was bought up by Morton Salt in 1943.

Most of these tokens have Excelsior Shoe Co. on the other side, apparently you got one when you bought Boy Scout shoes.

Swastika on one side, Cohen on the other... strange bed fellows, huh?

Looking into its origins for my area. It looks like it's from, as someone above stated, early 1900's. Another piece of history to add to the ever growing box of cool stuff.
