Good MD spots at Canyon Lake?

I'm planning on spending the weekend and a few days of the actual week at Canyon lake. I wan to know if there are any good spots to try going to with my MD. It's nothing fancy, just a bounty hunter pioneer 202. I appreciate any help or ideas

Id think anywhere cept the state parks. In the water or the beaches would probably be best. I bet there are some old long gone homesteads in Canyon park. Still wanting to hit that lake.
