It was already getting hot but I went out looking around 11:00 or so this morning. I was back home at 12:15 - I hope this is the start of a week or maybe I'll just call it good for the week.

Geez what a site - you never don't find anything - and more often than not usually something pretty cool or unusual.

I'm not sure about the piece in the lower right corner. It looks like a good size spoke shave and the shaving edge is sharp but the material is unusual and the "notch" may not be "worked" but just happened.

A spoke shave (I think) - I've added some additional photos of it. Is it a "sex stone" with a notch or has it been worked?

We see quite a few round rocks like this (hammer or chipper stones) in various sizes. I usually pick them up and look for wear or signs of use around the edges. They were used for chipping other pieces. Although sometimes they were further worked (maybe an "X" or groove carved in it) and used as gaming pieces.

Yes, I picked it up and it was, as you said, a drill. If you look in the 1st insitu photo you can see it and some other "possibles" before I picked it up. The other side was badly "fire fractured". I picked up several badly damaged or broken pieces that I didn't include in the photos above.

OK tchaire I took another look at that piece - it's actually a broken point. Steve looked at it just before noon - says broke Pelican Lake. I think the damage to it is "fire" fracture.

There's another broke point in the 1st photo. It's the white speck above and to the left of where this one is lying. The material is white pertrified wood.

yup it is a broke pelican lake point
it is upside down in the pictures
you can see a remaining corner notch

also twit and me discussed that rock and decided it is a natural rock.......but it sure looked like spokeshave at first
there is zero flaking on it
