Stopped at a site I had my eye on for a while, was never able to get in touch with anyone. Today I'm driving pass and see someone coming out of the place. Well made a u turn and stopped them, before they got in the car..lol
They were in a hurry, so they said go ahead, and thats all I needed.
This place is incredibly with lots of history all around.
I got my gear on, ground balanced and with in 10 min I had 2 half cents.
I thought the first was a quarter because it was so shallow till I wiped it and said oh ya, thats in great shape, put it in the container and went right back to it. Right next to it I get another hit just like that. Dug down and Bam! Another one. Ya baby. Right after that the skies open up and started to pour.
I wrapped up, can't wait to get back.
Thanks for looking.
George

Nice pair of half cents George. I love the bold date on the 1809, I have dug a couple of them. But I have dug very few dated after 1830. Most half cents I find seem to be Draped Bust. Good luck on your return trip.

Congrats on pulling those 2 beauties. :occasion14: Dang Bogart!!! :tongue3: Still looking for my 1st.

Nice! The 1834 is one of the sharpest half cents I have seen dug.:icon_thumleft:

They're both awesome, great finds, good job!

OH OH OH,Those half cent coins are awesome ,the 1834 is an eye popper coin. I have not found a half cent that is readable in 45 years of hunting.

Those are some nice ones for sure....Have a feeling when your done next time something is going to be on top again!!:laughing7:

Two great looking coppers, congrats on the quick hunt and results. Probably you'll be going back sometime soon to this new permission.

Double US half cent short hunt?? Perhaps at some point you'll come clean with the forum on the deal you struck to be such a lucky dog. Now, I wonder with whom you could have entered into such a bargain...

All kidding aside, absolutely cool and beautiful coins. I'm smiling for ya!

Both are real beauties, congrats ! :icon_thumleft:

A half cent spill! Shut the front door!

That '34 is as nice a half cent, as I have ever seen. No wear and excellent detail... nice, considering that the it has been laying in the dirt for about 180 years! You just never cease to amaze.

I guess dynamite does come in small packages.

Man, that 1834 is fantastic. I have found several but none even close to that nice. :occasion14:

Wow Vino!!! Your collection must be amazing! You just keep pulling awesome stuff! Your eye for sites that produce and the research and legwork you do is impeccable. Congratulations on yet another great hunt!

I hear ya George what a hunt you had. You'd never find that down here in north Carolina, they stopped making half cent's before anybody down here could afford a half cent. As always 'Congratulations'
