GORGEOUS SILVERED COLONIAL SHOE BUCKLE*GROUP HUNT

Dan invited us for a group hunt to 3 of his sites.left to right is Jesse(sniffy)Dan (Del) me(heavymetalnut) Todd(Thiltzy) & Ray (Kray) from Va.
we really had to work for our finds as these sites were hit pretty good in the past.i got a few buttons,a 1859 IH penny and the most ornate applied silver colonial shoe buckle i've ever dug.I used the fine brass bristled brush,with warm water & dish soap and it cleaned up beautifully.was a gorgeous day finally,and good to get back out with the guys.thanks Dan for the invite

Being a Colonial hunter myself finding one of these in this conditon is like finding a tree coin!!!!

You just dont find buckles like this and in this condion

Back in Colonial times , those silver buckles on your shoes meant you were a prominent , well respected gentleman , most likely , pulling down some major cash .
Today , a dude , wearing the same shoes with silver buckles would be considered to be some kind of fruitcake .
