ouch but hey its a seated so who cares ::) nice score MR TUFF

Seems like the painful reminders to dig carefully always happen to destroy the greatest coin finds. It's always worth it to slow down and pinpoint accurately.

:coffee2:

Awesome find, would love to see the pix!!!! Sadly I know just how you feel, last year I found my 1st ever SLQ and it was a Semi Key Date 1918d in perfect condition till my Leache got it... :laughing7: So don't be too hard on yourself, the way I see it, its better to have a scratched coin than no coin at all.

If interested, here is the link to the day that I found it.

hey fiend! thats a very nice pic, minus the scratch. gotta be the best standing liberty i ever saw. willy

All of us have that experience, we want to dig inconspicable holes and pay the price sometimes.

OUCH, I think I see a tear in her eye (yours too :))

If you hadn't been there, you wouldn't have found it. At least you have a nice but gouged coin rather not having it at all. A very nice find

mascard1 sorry to hear about the scratch, but congrats on finding an 1861 seated half :hello2:

Maybey you can polish it out with a little baking soda and water

Shame about the damage, still a nice find. Congrats. :)
