Went to the little beach next to my house, for an hour, looking for the huge ring I dream about.
I found these.
An old handmade fishing weight, a washer (I never throw away mechanic fixin's), a quarter, and the little thing. It's a weird little piece. I have no idea what it could be. It feels to be made of some type of clay and will sratch. It came up as "iron 2" on my Bounty Hunter 3300, but I see no metal. It is quite fragile as well. I think it might be made by some type of organism around a piece of metal. Some aquatic creatures do this.

Interesting is right..
The green interior says copper, may be so deteriorated there's not enough metal left to read properly.
can't help much with an ID.
Keep on diggin, Treasure is Everywhere

I am wondering if it is not a wick holder for an old oil lamp!

hmmm. That's a thought.
I can't stop looking at it. A very small piece scratched off and turned to powder when I pressed on it. So it's made from some organic material.

Littlebill, you build that bike?I told you this was an ADDICTION!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep. I've built several bikes. That's my daily rider. '81 Yamaha XS650 hardtail.

And yes, I am addicted. I'm hitting every area I possibly can. Tot-lots, other peoples yards, beaches, hiking trails, ect.
