Thanks it was one of those ones I was worried getting it home in one piece, you get a good one and start getting paranoid of having a hole in your pocket or bending over and breaking the tip off stuff like that

what process were you using?

4 treated 1.5x1.5 and doubled up wire screen, go sit in my spot (private land) and scoop with my hand and shake and sort… I ditched the shovel because I can’t feel anything and I’m afraid I may break something trying to get the next bit of material loose… the spot is limestone rock, and really fine loess.

i have a good sifter but have never used it.... where do you sift... a farm field?

Actually I don’t sift the fields there’s too much clay, I just surface hunt those I sift up above the river bottoms in the woods, different places need different conditions the spot I found this one is good very dry, others become so hard I need moisture to loosen up the soil. Up to last week we probably haven’t had an inch of rain in 4 months so the dry spot has been getting worked pretty hard.

Larson sent me a bunch of weatern point lke that form the Dakotas. As much as I love them I need to pull them out of my collection and send to a Dakotas collection. I am a purist on my few finds.

I use a lot of diff sifters but have learned if I can get gravity fed water fed to and out of the site it makes like easier.
Must be getting older haha

I just hold and shake, I guess I get a work out while I play, too cheap to pay for the real deal when this one gets the job done.
