Two for One........

Hello, what do you think about this? I found it along the banks of the Ohio River or near by creek. My skills with a camera are not the best, but there appears to be some sort of separate tubular stone through the middle of it.

Kinda looks like a goofy granite/gneiss contact. More realistically it is a mica schist in granite. Black biotite mica n golden mica schist. Looks to be some big feldspar in there too.

thanks for the reply i can see the mica in it and the granite and quarts like crystal today i was digging again hit the same type of rock but found red in it the quarts looked red dart rust like red. also have big schist as well n gold lots of graphite as well down there's a graphite mine 1/12 from me . I just trying to see if there's a possibility of gold in the area. they say no that there's is gem but can they be wrong? I read up on it they say graphite played a big roll with gold and so does quarts and when i dig my creek that's what i get quart graphite schist mica but no gold. MAYBE THERE RIGHT ill post another picture when i find something else interesting

I found this today i put a magnet on it and it holds very heavy for its size it rusted theres a crack going down on it weird was deep my creek any idea as to what this is and with a jewlers loop you can see like liquid that is hard coming from crack like it was expose to heat

Some kind of iron ore. Might contain some magnetite. The cracks likely occurred in an alluvial setting. The cracks give the chance for water n air to penetrate the rock. Oxidation occurs and stuff seeps out.

Help me identify this!

Hi there! I am new to this site, and I recently purchased some rocks from a local flea market. I forgot the name of one of my purchases and I cannot find it anywhere online!! It's extremely shiny and really beautiful in the light and it reminds me of black tourmaline.

Thank you for anyone's help in advance! 15503645856406632648424904345764.jpg 15503646526671066663812933516232.jpg

Does anyone recognize this material? It was removed from a gold mine. It has a sheen to it similar to an agate. Feels smooth and hard. Has a bit of quartz here and there and is increadibly light weight. Also, it does not fluoresce under any of my UV lights. 20190218_184542.jpeg 20190218_184549.jpeg 20190218_184555.jpeg

and the 2nd

Then heres another. Thisbone i havent seen anything like it, and it has me thinking about the movie "Joe Dirt", lol. So, this is Extremely heavy. VERY smooth on most of it, while havin a "coral like" look and very rough asphalt feel on other parts (looks like soda fizz). Its brown, with some spots on it that LOOK like some melted wax, but its hard. This is hard to explain.

Easy to get fooled around here Cheeks, but that looks from the pic a bit like a meteorite I examined once. Pretty tough to tell without checking it in Hand, Ya know?
