I found this Lincoln Cent today in my pocket change. It's a 1999 zinc with no copper clad cent. It weighs 2.5 grams which is normal I guess. I just got a new webcam so i'm still learning how to use it properly. I barely managed these photos so the color is a little screwy-

Anybody else ever found one of these?

The surface looks really rough like the copper plating was blasted off mechanically after the coin was made. I may be wrong but it was my first impression.

Yeah your probably right. I read where they use nitric acid (I think? :icon_scratch:) too, to remove the copper plating. Hers a couple more photos-

Got my first shield one cent piece at the convenient store today in typical zincer mode...already corroded on both sides, still has mint shine just spotted with 'rust'.

I really dislike zinc pennies, but I'll save 'em, even pick 'em up if peeps throw 'em down and cash 'em in as quick as I can save up bunch.

EBay it. I put one of mine on and sold it for $116.00. You never know.
