Hey all. Got bac from Ocean city, MD earlier. It was a great trip, didnt get any jewelery, but got the common change and some junk. I thought i would find a lot since we got there on monday right after the labor day weekend, but i bet a lot of detectorists were out there. The xterra 50 proved itself worthy though, so im happy about that. I just gotta get out to other places with it. I saw a few other ppl around and they were pretty much only findin change to. Its still a great time and i like it a lot. sometimes my patience fails, but wut can u do, lol. I'll have some pics soon of me out there detectin

They use sand cleaners all along that beach and the DE beaches as well so unless you have a wet unit finds will be few and far between on the swimming beaches. If you would of gone north to Fenwick Island you might of found a relic from a shipwreck.

Yes, that was a true case...mine relle isnt meant for water..so i was stuck on the dry sand....and those sand cleaners relle frustrated me, lol.

I was at Rehoboth Beach when you were at Ocean City...and got pretty much the same thing. My brother was using my DFX and I was learning my Excal 1000. The surf and riptides got so rough that I couldn't stand up in the water. I also did Bethany Beach and Dewey Beach as well. Same results. I had never been to Fenwick Island, so I didn't hit it because I didn't know if there were any restrictions other than the normal ones.

All DE OCEAN beaches are the same rules for detecting. In the bays different rules apply.

Thanks, Jim...I wasn't sure how on the interpretation of DE's rules....sometimes there's confusion when it's an oceanfront beach but it is in a state park.

detecting in OC this year was tough. i found twice as much stuff the year before this one. its almost like they are using a smaller screen in their beach cleaners this year or something. still was fun though. ;)

Yea...maybe next year when we go, since i'll be drivin by then...I can drive to fenwick or somethin and hunt it.
