i found this point a few days ago is this not a classic example of an impact fracture there is no chance it was ever hit by a farm implement makes me wonder what it hit bone maybe it was found in what i would call an ancient trash midden
Impact fractures are cool to study. This first piece appears to show a fracture from the tip and also from the base. Must have hit something solid. Next piece is one similar to yours where the point has been resharpened but shows evidence of a impact fracture
i love seeing these other examples welsbury your second point is almost identical to mine in terms of the fracture i also feel that these points are special its like a connection to the past as all artifacts are but different the examples you guys showed are super nice
Here's a few of mine. Everybody loves for their points to be perfect, but I'll take an otherwise intact example with an impact fracture over one that just got the tip broken off by the harrow any day. At least it's how the Indian left it.
