I found a James Avery ring at a school, two inches down. It was so exciting to see that circle of silver, at first I thought it was another washer! I think going to my local MD club for the first time this week and joining brought me good luck! One of the dimes was a 1965, just a year earlier..... silver ring.webp

Congrats on your first silver ring R&B ! That sure is a "chunky" looking piece of sterling.

sweet ring, love those surprises. I graduated from John Jay in 75, the city sure has changed since then. I went back in 76 to visit, there were houses forever where I used to catch rattlesnakes LOL

Congratulations, Rene', great find and a huge ring! Happy Hunting.

That’s a really a nice ring and history. You’re hooked. Many more to come. Great job.

Congrats on the first silver. Many more will come.
Dig those low tones and you will get your first gold.

Congrats on that first ring! I’m sure many more are waiting on you...

Thanks, Dave! I think you all brought me good luck when I went to the SA club on the previous Thursday. So glad to know folks in the area that I can learn from and share the fun of metal detecting!!

Thanks Sataro! I used to live up near your way, in Tyler. 8-)

Thanks! I have been getting more nickels and pulltabs lately, so hopefully I am close! I am wondering at what VDI would I most likely get a gold ring, and how the tone would sound? I know it will depend on how big the ring is etc,.....but can you give me an idea since you have a Garrett product?

Thank you, Tohenry. I like the fact that I found a ring with the cross on it. I feel like it was a sign, since I had a really rough 2018. :icon_thumleft:

It has continued to grow. I am originally from Arkansas, dirtlooter. Grew up in Arkadelphia...

Nice finds. Beauty of a ring.Congrats

Congrats and now on to the gold.

My last 10K white gold woman's ring hit at 43.
I found a 14K Yellow gold men's signet that hit 67
I also found a 14K Gold Mens wedding band that hit at 58.

I use the stock 8.5X11 coil pro Zero mode so basically I dig all VDI between low 40s and up.
Lots of foil but gold also

Good Luck

Thanks, neohio, that helps a lot! I went out a little today, and got a nickel and more pull tabs, so I am continuing the trend. The nickel was the first target I dug. I am running my "jewelry" mode so I get 40 and up on my detector.
