Stopped after work at the trusty fairgrounds tonight for a quickie hunt. I got a 1871 2 center there a few days ago and decided to go back to that area and try to listen for some deep signals. About ten minutes in to the hunt I got a 52 wheatie at about 7 inches. then it wasn't long and I got a hard quarter signal and the depth meter was pegged. Was giving me trouble on getting a good pinpoint as there is alot of trash in this spot but I managed a guess and started diggin, 10 inches later up comes my first every SLQ! Bad part is that besides the date being wore off, I dinged it with my digger
I usually am very careful when digging those deep signals but this one kinda gave me fits with the pinpointing and I think there might have been another metal object very close to it that was messin me up. Well at least I got one under my belt now and can go for a better one next time, hopefully with a date on it
and no digger tracks!
