Got the letter,W+E says "Your in Bootstrap"!!!

Hey everyone,Got an email last month from Steve of W+E Treasures magazine requesting the story and pics of my gold coin found last May.He said they wanted to include it in the Best Finds issue to be released in April 2008.Well I opened my mailbox yesterday and there was the letter confirming that it had indeed been included and also inviting me to write some more articles for them! Needless to say I was pumped!!! I guess they're also gonna send me a gold leaf bordered certificate for framing and a copy of the issue as soon as it's published!!! Yee haa!!!

Thanks Bob,The coins you've purchased,have they got the initials DERI on them or are they of the plain variety?The reason I ask is that I've been unable to find any of this variety for sale.I've been watching ebay since I found it but none have came up and the last auction record I can find is april 2006 and that sold for $1610.00 but it was in MS condition. I don't think the ones I bought had the DERI initials on them. I'll have to get into my safe deposit box at the bank and check them out again. But, I know they didn't cost anywhere near $1600. Yours must be a rare variety. I don't have any books on CAL Gold, but you probably can get more up-to-date info from the internet. Congrats again on a great find. I am happy for you, but just a little jealous.

Thanks for the reply Bob,the DERI variety is definitly a rare variety.I was getting a little antsy about having it just hanging around so I followed suit and deposited it in a safety deposit box along with some of my other valuables.Sad to say but publicity of such things can bring people to do things that they may not have done if not for the publicity.Hey Ashleen,thanks for the WTG!
