Hi, so is that a type of gel or silicone you put around the coil lead entry point on the coil?

No it is a gel type sealant you put around the battery in the shaft and it also has a new rubber seal in it to protect it from the water leaking in

Ahh, gotcha. Yeah a place I once worked in did detector repairs and maintenance and I recall the technician using similar on underwater detector housings. 👍
