Got to hunt with RONC(OR) and I found silver

After a couple of emails and phone conversations about settings for my SE, RONC(OR) took pity on me and came to Portland today to help me and hunt for a while.

After a false start and then getting lost, I finally got us to our destination. We were hunting an older area where some houses are scheduled to be moved and I had high hopes for the area.

I started well, finding a small silver ring in the first 10 minutes. Unfortunately that was the highlight of my day. Ron got a few wheaties as did I and some clad but no more silver.

But we were hunting, it wasn't raining and Ron shared a lot of knowledge about the SE and how to use it. Of course after seeing it, there is probably an ETRAC in my future.

Congrats on your silver ring, Lloyd. Too bad you didn't find any old silver coins.

Even if you had an extra $1500 burning a hole in your pocket, I'd spend it on something else. The SE Pro is plenty capable of finding what you're looking for in the hands of a skilled/knowledgeable hunter. I'm passing on the E-Trac. I will wait for the upgrade/update to that machine. I certainly wouldn't trade my SE Pro for an E-Trac. My SE Pro has been too good to me. It fits me like a glove.
