How'd those things taste? what are they, about 25lb. each?

I'd say they averaged between 12 and 15 pounds with a few pushing 20. They taste great! Nothing like a fresh-caught salmon from the open ocean. They taste much better than salmon already spawning in the river. About all I usually do with a river-caught salmon is smoke it. Some of these we cut into steaks and others we filleted. One of my favorite breakfasts is microwaved salmon steak and eggs. Yup, microwaved; trust me, if you don't overcook it, it's great! A pan-size trout I cook 2 minutes on one side, turn it over and cook 1 to 1-1/2 minutes on the other. Try it.
