found this coin in corn feild behind my house can't seem to find out much about it though,this empty corn feild has produced alot really good finds. it is amazing drive all over don't find squat and go out to this feild and bring in some really crazy stuff......anybody know what it is? i figure it was possiably issued to soldier here in ohio before they marched off to battle in gettysburg? thanks "wrench'' ???

I found a "medalette" like yours! It is at www.legacyamericana.com

At first I couldn't find anything on it, but then I just typed in "I propose to fight it out on this line if it takes all summer" and wow! It came right up.

They say it is 28mm. The one they show is made of white metal and is Choice AU and they are asking $125.00

That is a really great coin/token/medal whatever I wouldn't mind finding it, especially in almost my backyard
 
Some of these finds amaze me...So much stuff i never knew existed turns up every day
 
neat find yea you never know what is out there in those field. Just a detector out with you and do some detecting and also look for arrow heads at the same time. Wtg on you finds...Matt
 
Your "book" is actually a hinge for an old wooden ruler. Have found quite a few in fields around here.
