Founded in 1805 by Simon Gratz, son of a prominent Philadelphia merchant, Gratz, Pennsylvania, is a historic borough in Dauphin County officially incorporated in 1852. Originally known as "Gratztown," the community was laid out on land known as "Wild Cat Hill" and later incorporated into a small borough
