The “grave goods” they recovered were mostly personal jewelry.
I have to wonder if these people will be buried somewhere else and if their belongings will be buried with them?

I’ve also pondered how long a grave is considered protected and sacred?
It’s apparently somewhere between 0-15 generations.

they have been excavating at Sutton Hoo since 1939, so guess it
is up to each country,area to determine how long to dig

I agree and I will add to that. No soldier should be buried on foreign soil.

Some of those people dug up and robbed of their belongings may well have been soldiers or wives/family of soldiers.

Just seems like outright greediness.
