Went back to where I found the 1853 Seated Quarter a few weeks ago. Bottom is densely packed oyster shell here so digging is not easy. Unfortunately I scratched up the obverse of the 200,00 mintage 1878 Carson City Dime a little bit but I think the 520,000 mintage 1858 New Orleans Quarter looks awesome for a water find. Other notables were a musketball spill and an old homemade sinker. Career Seated #56-57 but these two are the rarest

Awesome finds!!!

Congratulations on both the low-mintage quarter and the CC dime!!!

Congrats on your latest seated. You have dug 57 seated? That's insane!

Nice coins!! I really like the color that silver coins get when they have been exposed to water over the years. You seem to have the perfect combination of slightly black tarnish with the glint of silver shining through... especially on the quarter. Congrats! :occasion14:

Thanks. I can find silver coins on the same site almost completely destroyed by the brackish water while others come out looking pretty good that will display well. As good as it looks, even that 1858 O quarter is light by 1 gram.
